"Wonderful show and very well-organized experience. It was worth the money to go for the VIP experience. The staff were very hospitable, friendly and professional. The performers were top notch. "The Myths of Maui Luau was a fun experience overall. The show was great, and the hula dancers and singers were really talented. The fire dancing at the end was a big highlight. The venue was beautiful, especially with the ocean view during sunset.
The food was just okay. It wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t very memorable either. For the price, I expected something a bit more flavorful.
The check-in and seating process could be more organized. There was some confusion with people thinking we had taken their seats, even though we were in the right place. It would help if staff were more involved during seating to avoid these situations.
Our server, whose name I forgot, was incredibly nice. He had long hair and a Japanese-sounding Hawaiian name. He was friendly, attentive, and really added a positive touch to the evening.
Overall, I’d recommend the luau for the performances and atmosphere. Just lower your expectations a bit when it comes to the food and seating logistics."

"From beginning to end, the experience and the staff were amazing. So much culture, story telling and entertainment. It was a little hot when we arrived for vip entry but there was plenty of shade to escape the sun until the show. Our server Ash was very attentive and the dancers were all so talented. Special shout out to the MC and mahola for the birthday wishes and song. Would very much recommend to family and friends!"

The Myths of Maui Luau Experience
The entertainment is a major draw, with talented performers showcasing hula dancing, singing, and instrumental music. The highlight for many is the electrifying fire knife dance, a thrilling display of skill and bravery that concludes the evening. Beyond the main show, some packages may include pre-show activities like hula lessons or craft demonstrations, offering a more interactive cultural experience.
While the performances and atmosphere are consistently praised, reviews suggest that the food quality can be a mixed bag. The buffet offers a range of Hawaiian staples, and drinks are typically unlimited. However, for those seeking a gourmet culinary adventure, managing expectations is key. The overall value is often found in the comprehensive cultural immersion and the spectacular entertainment.
VIP vs. General Admission
Another key benefit of VIP is early entry. This allows you to explore the venue at your own pace, perhaps grab a drink, and secure the best spots before general admission guests arrive. It can also mean a less crowded check-in process and a more relaxed start to your evening. Some VIP packages might also include additional perks, such as dedicated servers or premium drink selections.
General admission still offers a fantastic luau experience, with good views from various seating areas. However, seating is often assigned or first-come, first-served within sections, meaning you might not get the absolute best view. If you're on a tighter budget or don't prioritize front-row seats, general admission is a perfectly enjoyable option. The core entertainment and buffet remain the same for both ticket types.
Navigating the Luau with Specific Needs
Dietary restrictions, like vegetarianism, are also important to communicate. While the buffet usually has options, informing the luau beforehand ensures they can accommodate your needs. Many reviews mention that the staff is attentive and willing to help, so don't hesitate to reach out.
Accessibility for those with mobility issues should also be considered. The Royal Lahaina Resort grounds are generally accessible, but it's wise to confirm specific pathways and seating arrangements with the luau staff to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience for everyone.
