What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Guests consistently praise the Polynesian Village Resort for its immersive tropical theme, excellent location on the monorail line, and fantastic dining options like 'Ohana and Trader Sam's. The family-friendly amenities, including the Lava Pool and spacious rooms with two bathrooms, are also highly appreciated. However, some visitors find the resort's value proposition questionable compared to other Disney options, and a few have reported inconsistent service experiences.
"Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort has seen a few changes since opening in 1971, but the tropical theme, palm trees and the spirit of the South Pacific islands is still going strong. You won’t even feel like you’re in Florida anymore if you concentrate on enjoying the overall immersive experience and island decor. This is one of Disney’s top of the line resorts with over the top indoor and outdoor ambience all the way down to the landscaping. There are so many lush trees and plants, lit up in beautiful color during the holidays and with tiki torches on fire every night of the year. From bars to cafes and sit down restaurants, they have all your meals covered. And you’re a boat or monorail ride- even a walk! - away from the famed Magic Kingdom. Accommodations may be a once in a lifetime experience if you’re lucky, but pop over for a meal or snack anytime to make it a special event."

"Honestly this was our 2 nd time staying here, and this resort is amazing. So good that it moves into the #2 spot behind Wilderness Lodge for our DVC favs Location is perfect. Food options are dynamite, and the rooms and grounds are excellent. Also has some of the friendliest Cast members."

"Our family really enjoyed staying at the Polynesian for our annual Disney trip. The rooms were very accommodating to families with a queen, a kids trundle bed AND a Murphy bed that was very comfy. There were also 2 bathrooms that made getting ready easy for everyone. The rooms were also clean and the balconies were a great space to hang out. We enjoyed all the dining options — Captain Cooks grab and go had healthy options, and Kona and Ohana were special dining experiences. I have to give a huge shoutout to the manager Keith and an employee in the Island Tower who went so over and beyond to help our family on the last night of our trip when we didn’t have dining reservations and we were having a hard time finding dining options. Their kindness and excellent customer service were a highlight of our trip. Our kids loved the splash pad at the pool and the adults loved the grab and go cocktails at the bar nearby (those bar tenders were also amazing and deserve a shoutout!). The kids also enjoyed the sandy beach volleyball area. The monorail and Minnie Lyft SUVs made getting to the parks a breeze! Overall, the Polynesian was amazing and we’d recommend it to any family. Just make your dining reservations in advance!"
