What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Lake Lure Flowering Bridge was a cherished community garden, celebrated for its vibrant blooms, unique Rainbow Bridge pet memorial, and serene atmosphere. While deeply missed after significant storm damage, its memory inspires hope for future rebuilding efforts.
"The Flowering Bridge was truly one of the most special places in North Carolina — a beautiful blend of art, nature, and community.
It was peaceful and full of life, surrounded by the colors and creativity of the gardens, with the mountains and river adding to the magic of it all.
It breaks my heart to know it’s no longer there after Hurricane Helene, but I did want to share some pictures and videos of what it once was. This bridge brought joy to everyone who crossed it.
Thank you to all the volunteers and locals who poured their hearts into it over the years. Even though the bridge is gone, the memory of it will always remain — a reminder of beauty, resilience, and how deeply people can care for a shared space."

"My husband Craig and I visited a few days ago. I’m not going to lie, I cried. I have been here before. I’ve seen the pictures online and saw how this place has grown and how lovely it had become, but I was not prepared for the complete devastation that Hurricane Helene’s flooding brought to the area. I thought I was, but I really wasn’t. I hope there will be a way for the area to rebuild or recreate the serene setting once again. It was so lovely. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. ❤️"

"My family and I visited in the first week of June. The gardens were in full bloom. Absolutely gorgeous! My wife and I were very surprised to see how many different species of flowers and plants there were. I was honestly expecting the gardens to be smaller and it being a quick visit but we were actually there roughly 30 min ands would have stayed longer if we didn't have to go to the restroom. We absolutely loved and adored the rainbow bridge dedicated to our lost furry friends. We actually lost a beloved doggie family member last year and the bridge brought back some great memories! Thank you so much to the kind souls for sharing the gardens with everyone! Donations highly encouraged!"
