Reviews Summary

Visitors find Devil's Breakfast Table a scenic gem with a beautiful creek perfect for swimming and fishing, and decent hiking trails. However, the main drawback is the closed and dangerous bridge, limiting access to the other side and requiring careful creek crossings. The area's natural beauty is appreciated, but signage can be minimal.

"This place is pretty far off back in the woods, but the gravel road to the bridge (which is closed) was in pretty good shape as of Nov 2025. However, the closed bridge is in pretty bad shape. It's missing many boards making it dangerous to get across on foot (see pic). We hiked a short section of the Cumberland Trail starting near the closed bridge (look for sign along the gravel road not far from the bridge). The trail is fairly well marked with white metal strips nailed to trees and the trail is fairly easy to identify. Other than that, there weren't any signs to help you locate the actual attraction the place is named for."

"I drove up to DBT thinking I was going to be able to pass back onto the B main rd. Unfortunately, the river that runs right there does not have a bridge anymore. I could have drive through the water but there were a couple of logs blocking the way so I had to double back.

This area is big for public hunting. The camps were full and many vehicles parked along the roadside so I drive pretty slow and tried not to make a bunch of noise or raise gravel dust.

I would go back and hike the trails though. Looked decent."

Kelsey Dowell

"Great spot to swim in the creek or take the trail. No connection to the other side of the creek. You can no longer drive across the bridge but if you’re careful you can cross the creek on foot. Just be aware, sometimes the water is fast moving. Also keep in mind that you are on Catoosa WMA so the gates are closed from dusk to sunrise."
