There’s a fair amount of parking - I have never had issues finding a space even on busier days, there’s some picnic benches/tables, a couple trails leading down towards the park itself and a pit-toilet restroom like you find in a national park. No frills but great views, no fees and worth checking out."

Red Rock Canyon Overlook is located off Nevada State Route 159, which starts on the east side of Las Vegas and winds its way across the town, where it is called Charleston Blvd., to Red Rock Canyon. It then hooks down south towards Blue Diamond before ending at the intersection of Route 160. The overlook boasts a fairly large parking space and restrooms for both men and women. However, the true star of the show is the breathtaking view of the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area.
Depending on the time of day or different times of year, the view of the mountains and the land in between transforms. The play of shadows can be truly captivating, especially if you have a camera with a good lens to capture the moment. I've stopped there on a cold morning, bundled up with a steaming cup of coffee, and on a warm evening, wearing a t-shirt and holding a cold drink (nonalcoholic, of course!). Both visits were equally enjoyable. My timing was perfect on several occasions - right after a rain storm. The usually dry creek below the parking lot was filled with rushing water, creating a sight to behold!
If driving on Route 159, consider stopping here for a few minutes. You won't regret it."
