What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the vibrant colors and surreal beauty of Seven Magic Mountains, calling it a must-see for its unique desert art and photo opportunities. While many appreciate the free access and easy proximity to Las Vegas, some note the intense desert heat and the need for preparedness.
"We enjoyed visiting seven magic mountains. It’s such a cool art display on your drive to Vegas! I’ve visited this spot a few times and every time we visit we enjoy! It’s nice going during the winter since it’s easier to handle the short distance hike to the rocks. There’s no charge to come here but they do suggest donations. There’s always a crowd whenever we stop by but I feel like it’s worth it! It’s something cool to see so I do recommend stopping by!"

"A magical colorful exhibit that shows itself so well against the desert. There are no tickets or money required so don't be scanned by tickets online. The whole thing is free... always.
Really nice attraction."

"✨ Only those with an artistic heart can truly appreciate such beauty- seven magical, colorful stones standing tall amidst a silent desert, surrounded by mountains. It’s mesmerizing to witness art blend with nature’s calm. Loved capturing every moment in this vivid oasis of color and serenity. 🎨🌈🏜️
💡 Tip: If you’re going by Uber, ask your driver to wait for your return pickup. It might save you from paying extra for another ride later- most drivers are happy to wait for a small charge while you enjoy your time there. 🚗"

The Artistry of Seven Magic Mountains
The artist's intention was to create a dialogue between the natural environment and human creation, using bold colors and monumental scale to evoke a sense of wonder and playfulness. The placement in the desert, a landscape often associated with emptiness, highlights the power of art to transform and invigorate a space.
While the installation is currently slated to remain until 2027, its future location is uncertain, adding a layer of ephemerality to its appeal. This makes visiting it a unique opportunity to witness this specific iteration of the artwork.
Navigating the Desert Environment
Temperatures in the desert can fluctuate dramatically. Mornings can be cool, while afternoons can become very hot, especially during summer months. It's advisable to check the weather forecast before your visit and dress in layers. The best times to visit for comfort and photography are during the cooler parts of the day, like early morning or late afternoon, when the light is also most flattering.
It's important to remember that this is a natural environment. Visitors are encouraged to stay on designated paths and avoid climbing on the art installation to preserve its integrity and ensure safety. Pack out everything you pack in to help keep this beautiful desert landscape clean.
