What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Griffin is a beloved downtown dive bar praised for its cozy, stone-faced ambiance, real fireplaces, and a more intimate vibe compared to the usual Vegas glitz. Patrons appreciate the eclectic jukebox, reduced music volume for conversation, and good happy hour deals. However, some reviews mention inconsistent jukebox functionality, potential issues with management behavior, and concerns about drink pricing and past health code violations.
"Pretty good for drinks with a small group.
Could use some soft table lights. And the jukebox might be broken because we could only get it to play one requested song."

"Favorite bar in Vegas. Great vibes, great staff, excellent drinks. My partner and I don’t consider it a great Vegas stop unless we stop by at least once.
In a city of fake and “experience cocktails at $40+ a glass”, this place is the real deal and doesn’t need to posture, the drinks do the talking."
Patrick Wallace
"Terrible decision walking into this place. One person in our group didn’t like the bar and said, “this bar’s ass,” and the owner completely lost it—screaming and throwing a fit in front of everyone probably because owner was unprofessionally plastered. You would think as a business perspective if people 21-27 are saying your bars ass you would ask why and how to improve it to fit younger generation and change it a bit to hit all audiences as a bar, whole vibe was completely off there tho owner doesn’t deserve any customers the way he acted trying to be on a power trip😂
On top of that, the service was awful. The bartenders looked irritated just taking an order, and the drinks were insanely overpriced for what you get. Nothing about the experience felt welcoming, professional, or worth the money.
security dragged me out for absolutely no reason, even though I wasn’t the one who made the comment about the bar being ass. I was just trying to go back in to grab my wallet, and they still refused to let me get it. Meanwhile, the friend who actually made the comment was allowed to walk out on his own without any issue.
I did nothing wrong, yet I was treated like a problem. Between the owner’s unhinged behavior, the rude staff, and the overpriced drinks, this place is an easy pass. There are way better bars in Vegas—don’t waste your time or money here. Also place has had a lot of health issues in the past with bug infestation and low grade from health department."
