Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise Hearthside House Museum for its beautifully preserved Gilded Age charm, rich history, and the exceptional dedication of its volunteers. The themed events, like the Victorian mourning customs tour, are frequently highlighted as memorable and immersive experiences. While the museum is a labor of love, some visitors note that accessibility can be limited to specific events.

"I visited on Great Road Day in September. This was a historic house that I had always gone by but never gone in. Only the first floor was open to the public during Great Road Day, but it had more than enough artwork, antiques, and unique architectural features to satisfy any visitor. The house was fairly well-lit for such a dark day and plenty of signage was available, while docents were friendly and knowledgeable. The first floor of the house is accessible via ramp, so those using a wheelchair or with limited mobility would have an equitable experience during Great Road Day."

Abigail Epplett

Ashley Donovan

"The volunteers are amazingly helpful and knowledgeable. The information they present is accurate and useful. Their programs are fantastic for both the young, old and everyone interested."
