"Beautiful little park outside of Longmont. Seems to be great for bird watching, but also to enjoy the view at the Rocky Mountains. Depending on the weather you can see reflections of Longs Peak in the water of the little pond that is part of this park.
Plenty of parking - including for handicapped people. There are restrooms, but they seemed to be closed for the season.
This park is surrounded by apartments and residential housing on two sides, but buildings are far enough away.
Dogs are allowed in the park, but need to be leashed."

"Short walk but beautiful views of the mountains across the lake. If you go to the end you can loop around via the neighborhood at the back of the lake. Unfortunately the trail is not continuous all the way around. I like this trail better on fall and spring. Summer this year had lots of mosquitoes."

"Jim Hamm’s family donated this land in honor of Jim Hamm who was shot down over Vietnam in 1968 and to honor all St. Vrain Valley Veterans who fought in that war. Jim spent his youth exploring and appreciating the wild environment that once was part of his grandfather’s farm (Elmer Montgomery).
This park is a bird sanctuary and you will encounter some beauties here! It is never crowded and is a lovely little hike. There is plenty of off-street parking. There is an amazing view of Longs Peak reflected in the lake and a lovely platform upon which one can walk to view the panoramic vista of the Front Range. All wheelchair accessible!"
