What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Guests rave about The Biltmore's stunning historic architecture, enchanting ambiance, and rich Hollywood past, making it a memorable stay for history and ghost enthusiasts. However, some find the rooms dated and service inconsistencies, particularly at the front desk, detract from the overall luxury experience.
"I chose to stay at the Biltmore in downtown Los Angeles because several movies I love were filmed here. It’s one of the oldest hotels in the city, but truly one of the most beautiful. The historic frescoes and details inside are stunning, and the entire building has an incredible charm.
My room was large and spacious, and the staff were all very kind and helpful. I was genuinely impressed by many aspects of my stay.
Prices are definitely higher than average, but the atmosphere and the location make it worth it.
The only inconvenience was the extremely long line at check-in, but the staff handled everything politely. They even allowed me to stay an extra hour after check-out and helped me with my luggage, which I really appreciated.
Overall, it was a wonderful stay. I would definitely return if I come back to Los Angeles."

"I went to the front desk to request that the iron in my room be replaced. I was asked to present my ID, and since I did not have it with me, I showed my room key instead. Moments later, my room key was deactivated, preventing me from using the elevator or accessing my room.
When I returned to the front desk, I was informed that my card could only be reactivated if I presented my ID. I had to be escorted by security to my room to retrieve it, and only then was I allowed to return to the front desk to have my key reactivated.
At no point did I receive an apology for the inconvenience caused. There was no acknowledgment, no eye contact—only the feeling of being treated as a nuisance rather than a guest.
While I completely understand the importance of security protocols, the way this situation was handled was far from welcoming. Hospitality should make guests feel safe and respected. Unfortunately, this was not the experience I had with Kahn. It is disappointing to encounter such poor standards in an establishment of this reputation.
On a positive note, I would like to highlight the professionalism and genuine care shown by the valet and housekeeping teams. Their service was exemplary—quite the contrast with the front office experience."

"I will be staying again! Had a great view from the 9th floor. Enchanting setting , beautiful architecture, exquisite vintage feel. I enjoyed walking around the lobby and checking out the pool room and looking at all the pictures on the wall. As a History lover this was a wonderful choice. The bar was excellent you must check out the food and drinks. General Parking was $50 for the night with in and out privileges. The staff was kind and helpful. Area is in the heart of all the hustle and bustle. Yea there are some questionable people but if you walk around just stay alert , and enjoy the awesome city all around. No need to feel unsafe if you need to go out. There are fun and hip places to eat nearby. Bring ear plugs if you are sensitive to sound like I am when it comes to sleeping. Overall highly satisfied."
