"Wonderful, historic architecture in mostly excellent condition makes for a beautiful scene. Well worth a look if in the Echo Park area. Pick out the two famous houses while you are there too."
Paul Esson
"Carroll Ave is a historical landmark street famous for having the largest concentration of Victorian-era homes in the city, and the highest concentration of Eastlake and Queen Anne residences in Southern California. A dozen or so of the houses appear on the historic sites register. Located just a mile from downtown, Carroll Avenue also features a few homes that have been featured on television and music videos, including the Charmed house and the abode shown in Michael Jackson's “Thriller” video. These victorian houses are LA’s version of the Painted Ladies of SFO. I drove by to spent a few minutes to see these beautiful houses. Overall, it’s a great historical landmark for tourists or locals to visit."

"I grew up living a block away for 16 years 67-83. They sure didn’t look like that back then."
