From an art history perspective, the collection is unparalleled. Being surrounded by such a vast and meticulously curated selection of Greek, Roman, and Etruscan antiquities is an education in itself. Seeing the artifacts housed in a building modeled after the Villa dei Papiri makes the history feel alive—it’s not just a museum, it’s an immersive experience into the ancient world.
The architecture is equally matched by the incredible views. Nestled in the hills of Pacific Palisades, the sight of the Pacific Ocean framed by the villa’s classical columns and lush Mediterranean gardens is breathtaking. The Outer Peristyle, with its long reflecting pool and views out toward the coast, provided some of the best photo opportunities of our trip.
Whether you’re a serious student of history like my son or just someone looking for one of the most beautiful vistas in Los Angeles, this is a must-visit. A truly sophisticated and memorable way to celebrate a milestone birthday!"

"Wonderful place. I visited some 43 years ago and it's still amazing. The displays, sculptures and gardens are incredible. When you are done exploring they have a delicious cafe. Garlic fries were amazing. Everything we had was delicious. Beautiful calm place with no tolerance for stupid people. Nice place to get away from them. When you are done with the Wonderful experience you have the ocean right across the street."
