This morning I ended up at the Los Gatos Cafe on Santa Cruz avenue, a small diner-like experience with counter service and an extensive breakfast menu. Chimichurri flank steak showed up in a lot of dishes. I hadn't seen that before. So I asked for a recommendation and was guided to the chimichurri steak benedict with gorgonzola. I went with grits over potatoes since you don't get grits much out here.
This was amazing. The perfectly poached eggs and well seasoned steak makes the dish a delight. The hollandaise was perfect The heaping dollop of butter made the grits a heavenly experience.
The friendly counter staff kept my coffee full and my space clean.
Small and friendly, with an extensive breakfast menu. Outdoor seating with people watching is available, but I enjoyed the counter today.
Recommended to fill the diner-sized hole in your breakfast heart."
