Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise the National Ranching Heritage Center as a 'phenomenal' and 'hidden gem' offering a deep dive into American ranching history. The free admission and the engaging Hank the Cowdog exhibit for kids are frequently highlighted positives, though some note that windy weather can limit outdoor access.

"This is a phenomenal place to visit! Such great history about ranching. Excellent trail to walk around and view all the different types of housing. Very well kept up. Remember to bring water & a hat with you!

No fees to visit but definitely leave a donation 😀"

"This is a great place to spend an afternoon. So much to see & so much to learn- both inside and outside. My husband, 3 kids (13, 10 & 10) and I all enjoyed it! We went on a very windy day, so most of the outside buildings were closed up for protection from the elements, but still lots to see. We will definitely be back on a day it isn’t windy so we can check out the insides of the out buildings."

Alicia Ann

"This is one of my family’s favorite places to go in Lubbock. So interesting to see how people used to live back in the day. And see all of the clever ways that they use technology of their day to make home on the plain. Every Christmas time they hire actors to come and celebrate Christmas in the old buildings as it would’ve been celebrated back in the day. They decorate the houses and the cabins up as well with candles and other decorations. It is a very special feeling to go and see"
