You’d Never Guess This Fairytale Mansion Is Just 30 Minutes from NYC… 🏰🌿 I spent a dreamy afternoon at Lyndhurst Mansion in Tarrytown, and honestly, it felt like walking through a movie set. The Gothic architecture, quiet trails, and rose garden in full bloom made it feel worlds away from NYC — but it’s less than an hour from Manhattan. I wandered through 67 acres of gardens, lawns, and tree-lined...

Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise the breathtaking summit views at Humpback Rocks, calling them 'well worth it' and 'absolutely beautiful.' The hike is described as steep but manageable for most, with the 1-mile trail offering a challenging but quick ascent. Some note the parking can be full, and the trail is indeed strenuous.

"We decided to do the shorter trail instead of the loop as we were just passing through the area and wanted a smaller hike. The views are well worth it and the trail is fun if you're in shape and prepared for it, but I definitely struggled more than I expected. My husband did just fine though and thought it was a fun climb. Would definitely go back! Just be aware that it is fairly steep for most of the way and the parking area was pretty full but we did see some people park along the driveway and you can park at the visitor center and walk over too."

Trisha

"Had a great challenge up the 1 mile trail, definitely got a workout but not too strenuous or acrobatic. The views at the top are definitely worth the hike, absolutely beautiful!! The longer 3 mile trail is also nice as well, seeing the forest and many flowers. Never seemed too crowded either, especially for the weekend."

Ben S.

"This was my 2nd visit but 1st time on a clear day. Perfect beginner's trail. The view was worth it. Clear sky, warm sun. Time was well spent. We loved it."
