Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise Mackinac Island for its unique car-free environment, charming historic atmosphere, and beautiful natural scenery. The horse-drawn carriages and delicious fudge are frequent highlights. However, many note that the island can become extremely crowded, especially during peak season, which can detract from the experience for those seeking tranquility.

"What a romantic little island. We took a carriage ride around the island and every place we stopped was picture perfect. I felt like I was in a different country."

Adriana

"Mackinac Island is definitely a beautiful and unique place with its charming streets, horse carriages, and scenic views. It’s worth experiencing at least once. That being said, it can get very crowded, which makes it less enjoyable for people like me who prefer quieter spots. Also, visiting on a hot sunny day can be overwhelming. Overall, I’d say it’s a great one-time visit, but not somewhere I’d return often."

aishwarya raj

"Gorgeous island set back in time where motorized vehicles arent allowed. We highly recommend the horse carriage ride around the island where you can get off & back on at destinations. You can also walk, bike, take a personalized carriage ride/tour, drive your own carriage or motorized scooters. The Secret Garden is a must see!! Sit in a rocking chair on the porch of the Grand Hotel and enjoy the stunning views! Eat at the Chuck Wagon. (Limited seating) Visit Fort Mackinac during one of the event times, cannon firing or artillery) Enjoy views & Lake Breeze. Butterfly House! Forge/Blacksmith. Fudge!"
