Growing up near Mackinaw City (and working there in high school) we have our favorite places down to a science. One place that has been on our list since I was a toddler is @aliceskandy. They have THE best caramel popcorn, and caramel apples! Not only that but their prices are some of the best in town! The current owners are dedicated to keeping it to the original recipe and flavor. After 6 weeks in Canada, we cruised back to the US on Lake Huron to Northern Michigan. We briefly stayed overnight in Detour Village to clear customs. Then we headed to Mackinaw City where we were met with a War of 1812 Reenactment Festival at our Marina. The next day we met our friends and Northern Michigan Natives, Lauren and Blair, who are traveling with us for a few days. #thegreatloop #gr...

Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise Mackinaw City Marina for its excellent location, clean facilities, and friendly service, making it a great base for exploring the area. While some note the potential for large wakes from ferry boats, the overall experience is highly positive, with many highlighting its affordability and proximity to downtown attractions.

"Nice marina. Got charged for 33' since my mast was unstepped on my 25' boat. The restrooms and showers were really nice and clean. Everything was nice. Location to down was great. Nice marina office and the staff allowed me to study some maps that helped me navigate the Macinaw straight. It was the smallest boat in the harbor. The ferry boats left big wakes about 20 times a day. Lol"
