What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Manby Hot Springs offers a beautiful, natural soaking experience with a challenging but scenic hike. Visitors praise the serene atmosphere and potential for wildlife sightings. However, the trail's difficulty, including boulder scrambling and poison ivy, is a significant deterrent for some, and concerns about current accessibility persist.
"Trailhead at John Dunn Bridge is not accessible by car from the west contrary to Google Maps. Trail is difficult due to many sections that require scrambling over boulders. There is poison ivy along the entire trail. We had to lift our 70 lb lab up over slick boulders. Some pools were under the river water and the exposed pool was only luke warm. Otherwise, it's a beautiful hike and we saw goslings and bighorn sheep at the waters edge."

"I haven’t been since the 80s it still looks the same from the recent photos. Beautiful spot!
I was sad to hear about San Ysidro hot springs (on the way to Cuba) getting capped off and bulldozed by the Tribe.😢"
David Blum
"Beautiful location! I only wish I were in better shape so that I could have made it all the way to the pools from the trailhead next to the bridge. Lots of boulder-scrabbling along the river, where we could hear the eaglets calling out for food as their parents swooped over the river valley hunting. I would love to return after exercising enough to get into the condition needed!"
