Mancos State Park is a Colorado state park. It is located near Mesa Verde National Park, the West Mancos Trail and the San Juan Skyway. The park is known to have been a dwelling place for Ancestral Puebloans. They lived in the Four Corners area in ancient times from AD 1 to 1300. It was also later controlled by the Spanish for 200 years from the 17th to the 19th century. #mancostatepark #videograp...

Reviews Summary

Mancos State Park is praised for its beauty, cleanliness, and abundant wildlife. Visitors enjoy the serene Jackson Gulch Reservoir for fishing and water activities. While the park office has strict closing hours, the well-maintained campgrounds and friendly rangers contribute to a positive experience. Some minor drawbacks include potential bugs and muddy areas near the water.

"Very pretty and very clean. We went for a few hours to be at the reservoir and SUP. We found the last good spot and we were there a few hours just enjoying the views of the mountains and the dam and the water.

They close the office promptly at 4 pm exactly. Thankfully a ranger was kind enough to speak to me as I approached the door at exactly 4 pm and they had already locked up.

You can drive over the dam and make a right and a long that road there are probably 10 access points to walk down to the water.

There were bugs but not bad

We saw Osprey and bunny and a deer as well as some chipmunks.

The water was clean but the ground a bit muddy. We were down by the day use area near the North Campground."

Katie Klas

"Very nice small park with a lot of trees and plenty of shade. The lake is right across the road from us and there are many water spigots scattered around the campground. Our Loop was very quiet with a couple of Yurts here which were pretty nice. We would definitely come back
Mancos is less than 10 minutes away and the brewery had a band , good pizza and the beer was okay."

Wayne

"Absolutely beautiful place!!
Restrooms were clean.
No showers operational at time of visit in late April.
Horseshoe pits.
Fire pits and grills at most sites. Yurts also available though I believe they are more for winter camping.
Bear boxes in/around some sites."
