"August 28, 2024 Goodnow House State Historic Site and Riley County Historical Museum. The Goodnow House is a historic two-story stone house. It was built in 1857 in the Plains Vernacular style. From 1861 Isaac Goodnow and his wife, Ellen lived in the house. Goodnow was an abolitionist and co-founder of both Kansas State University and Manhattan. 28 August 2024.
August 28, 2024 we stopped at Goodnow House State Historic Site in Manhattan Kansas before heading to Kansas City!"

"I’m not much of a history buff, but I love visual history- especially infrastructure! The house was very cute and we were enjoying our visit, but it was kind of disappointing to learn that the state of the house is not the original… The house was used as OLD college student rentals before it was turned into a historic site.
So its all original furniture just possible its not in the original position if thats the kinda thing that bums you out 😂
Also there were random buildings on the property that had nothing to do with the Goodnow house- they were just other old buildings the city decided to move right next to the house lol!"

"They didn't open until 2 pm so we waited and it was worth it. The gentleman who gave us the tour was very informative and told great stories."
