What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the friendly and helpful staff at Chipola River Adventures, praising their reasonable prices and pet-friendly policies. While the river offers beautiful scenery, some find the float trips longer than expected with shallow sections. The strict no-disposable rule is a key aspect of the experience.
"Excellent Experience! The owner is super nice and laid back. This is the same route as Bear Paw, but Pet-Friendly AND around half the cost. Call these guys first!"

"If you are looking to have a fun time on the Chipola river, then look no further than Chipola River Adventures. Not only were the prices very reasonable, the owners were super helpful and friendly. We will definitely be coming back for their services!"

"My daughter and I visited Chipola River Adventures on Saturday, June 28th, 2025. As complete beginners to the whole āfloating down a riverā experience, we werenāt quite sure what to expect. We originally brought some inexpensive floats from Dollar Tree, but the owner kindly advised us that they might not hold up on the river. Wanting to stay safe, we decided to rent one of their large, sturdy floats instead.
The owner, along with a younger man (possibly a relative or staff member), was incredibly gracious from the start. He generously offered us a big discount on the āsofaā floatāprobably because he could tell we were a bit in over our heads! They drove us to the starting point upstream and even helped us get settled into the float. I was a little self-conscious about needing help getting in, but they treated us with kindness and without judgment. I truly appreciated their patience and gentle assistance.
The float trip itself turned out to be a bit more than we bargained forāabout four hours long, with stretches of very shallow water where we had to hop out and push the float. At one point, while trading spots with my daughter, I slipped on a rock and accidentally flipped the entire float (and my daughter!) upside down. Looking back, itās funnyābut at the time, we both ended up with some cuts and scrapes.
The river was a mix of peaceful moments and louder stretches where we passed groups partying, drinking, and smoking. Some parts were serene and beautiful, while others were a little overwhelming for someone looking for a quieter float. After about two hours, we were definitely ready to be done!
Despite the rough spots, there were still bright momentsākind people, beautiful weather, and refreshing water. When we finally saw the end in sight, we paddled hard to reach the takeout point, where the younger man was waiting to help us out. I wish Iād gotten his nameāhe was so kind, as were the owner and the woman working there (possibly his wife?).
All in all, I give this experience:
⢠ā for the friendly and helpful staff,
⢠ā for the quality of the float rental,
⢠ā for the scenic (at times peaceful) river,
with a special thanks to God for the gorgeous weather and water conditions that day.
I would recommend Chipola River Adventures, especially if youāre a little more experienced. But even for first-timers like us, the staff made all the difference. Thank you for your kindness and patienceāwe wonāt forget it!"
