What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
McKelvey Woods Trail is a charming, small natural area praised for its native grasses, butterfly sightings, and peaceful atmosphere. While some visitors note its limited size and potential for muddy paths after rain, it's highly valued as a lovely, well-maintained spot for short walks and wildlife observation.
"This small patch of nature is mostly tucked away. A bridge leads you over a stream to a path, which branches throughout your walk, some leading into mowed areas and others on to dirt.
They let the native grasses grow high, which draws in droves of butterflies and small woodland critters (we saw a groundhog). The paths are decently maintained, and they have a picnic table for a rest.
Keep your expectations in check, though. It's very small. The paths won't even give you a mile of walking, and if it's been raining heavily, half of them will probably be muddy. Despite its name, It's not truly a park, and that is the only reason I subtracted a star.
But for what it is, its lovely."

"So its easy to miss from the road. It appears at first to be just a parking lot with a bridge in it. Once you walk across the bridge there are 2 benches spaced out and all the way down the path is a picnic table.
This area would be great if you were further away from 270. Really pretty well maintained"
