Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise the stunning panoramic views from Mary's Rock summit, calling the effort of the challenging hike well worth it. While many enjoy the rocky terrain and rewarding climb, some find the steep, sustained uphill sections quite strenuous. The availability of two different trail approaches offers flexibility, though parking can be limited during peak times.

"A moderately difficult trail lead up to an amazing panoramic view. Although it’s technically not the highest point on the trail, the view is still gorgeous. There’s a campground along the way with an outhouse which is very convenient."

"Great hike to Mary's Rock! The trail from the trailhead is a challenging uphill climb with rocky terrain the entire way—definitely not an easy stroll, especially at 52 years old on my birthday! My dog Tess, my wife Jackie, and I pushed through, though we all felt the strain. We encountered a surprising hail storm, leaving us soaked by the time we reached the car, adding to the adventure. The views from the top are stunning, with winds strong enough to hold my handkerchief straight out. Met only one other hiker, a young through-hiker on the AT, making it a peaceful experience. Highly recommend for a tough, rewarding trek—just be prepared!"

Steven Penney

"Easy and short hike with a gorgeous view! Not crowded at all and the trail is in great condition."
