"Off the beaten path, but that's one of the things that makes Historic Brattonsville such a wonderful place. Very well worth a trip to visit but make sure to plan in at least half a day, or more, to ensure you get to see everything. I also recommend visiting at various times throughout the year as some of their presentations change with the seasons. Another great time to visit is during there American War of Independence weekend reenactment of the Battle of Huck's Defeat, in early/mid July (the battle was fought 12 July 1780).
A true gem nestled in the South Carolina backcountry."

Jon Holland

"This place is amazing if you love history! It’s a must see!! The staff and volunteers are all so friendly and knowledgeable, and there’s so much to see in such a small area. I really enjoyed their livestock, heritage breeds that are close to what the townsfolk of Brattonsville would have had in the 1800s. The pigs were especially cute!! We also really enjoyed seeing the historical cooking and learned about writing with a real quill and ink. Such a lovely time. I definitely think it was worth the 20 min drive from Rock Hill!"

Rachel Sowell

"Great experience for the whole family. They put on a good reenactment show. Had the 18th century church Sunday morning and lots of history. On-site blacksmith."
