What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the Katy Trail for its stunning natural beauty, including bluffs, streams, and a unique walking bridge. The well-maintained path and convenient access points, like the Hermann trailhead, are frequently highlighted. While generally positive, some minor critiques mention parking and restroom conditions.
"Really cool spot for a long or short walk! Also, a neat biking trail. Goes a super long way! Gorgeous views and unique fauna and flora. The bridge is very cool and you can see the fish swimming below. Very well maintained and a cool place to walk for the afternoon! We also saw some turtles and a variety of birds! Didn't see any fees to access the area, so that was a bonus."
Katherine Schwarz
"Settling on 4.5 stars, only for nit-picking reasons. Parking is nice, could be better. Restroom a lil gross, seen worst, not too bad though. The trail is very close to the parking lot, which is really nice. Didn't have time to explore the shops, maybe next time. The views are stunning, I have no idea I stopped to take photos and videos. So many streams, creeks, marshes, and bluffs. So far this is my favorite area to view KTY trail. The trip from the trail head to the river is nearly 8.2 miles. Gonna have to do it again."
Jason Stites
"The trail head is a couple of miles outside Herman. Nice little rest area for hikers and bikers and parking area if you just want to walk a few miles of the trail. If you go walking to the left, there are nice views of bluff walls, and to the right is a beautiful walking bridge."
