Reviews Summary

Visitors find the C.H. Nash Museum at Chucalissa to be an educational and affordable destination, particularly for families and school groups interested in Native American history. While some reviewers note that the site could benefit from better maintenance and updated facilities, the historical exhibits and reconstructed village offer a valuable glimpse into the past. Reddit

"Admission $6. A short intro video, displays inside, hands-on workshop for children by appointment, Indian mound, and nature trail.
Great field trip for students, scout troops, 4-H, and any group needing education on the area."

"This was the worst maintained native american archaeological museum/park I’ve ever visited. Dilapidated and neglected. The movie in the visitors center wasn’t working. All the signs on the trail were worn and falling apart. No attempt from the employee to engage us and at least tell us something about the museum. The only positive thing to say was the weather was nice. I will not return or recommend. The University of Memphis needs to address the condition of this historical site. Better yet let the National Park Service take it over."

"My kids and I visited Chucalissa about two weeks ago and it was an absolute joy. There is a short film, a small but detailed museum, a replica building, as well as a hiking trail. We did not get a chance to do the hiking trail although if we are in the area again we will definitely go earlier so that we are able to experience that trail. There was also an attached kid-friendly archaeological site.

This entire experience was extremely educational and my son has been loving the coloring book that I purchased for him from the gift shop.

If you are in the Memphis area and looking for something low-cost to do I would absolutely visit this museum."
