What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the Memphis Botanic Garden for its beauty, affordability, and diverse themed areas, making it a great spot for families and couples. While the summer heat and limited on-site refreshments are noted drawbacks, the option to picnic and the engaging special exhibits like the trolls and Alice in Wonderland add significant value.
"This place is huge, we spent almost 3 hours walking, reading and learning about plants. Unfortunately it was a hot summer day and there are no beverages vending machines anywhere. We had to settle with fountain water. Be sure you pack plenty cold soda it will help you thru the garden. The admission ticket is only $12 for adult what a bargain. This place is good for family outing. The garden is well maintained. Their gift shop is tiny and not much selection."

"We recently had the pleasure of visiting the Memphis Botanical Gardens, and it was an absolutely delightful experience. The gardens offer a wonderful splash area for kids, making it a perfect spot for families. On the day we visited, there were also several booths, beautiful artwork available for purchase.
The shaded sitting areas throughout the gardens provide a serene environment to relax and soak in the beauty around you. The greenhouse is particularly stunning, filled with vibrant plants and flowers that truly capture the essence of the gardens.
One of my favorite aspects of this venue is the welcoming policy that allows visitors to bring their own food. It creates such a romantic and charming atmosphere for a picnic date night amidst the breathtaking surroundings.
Additionally, the gardens feature an events building, making it an ideal location for hosting special occasions. How fantastic is that? I left feeling inspired and rejuvenated, and I’m already looking forward to my next visit. Highly recommend this treasure in Memphis!"

"My girlfriend and I had an amazing day at the Memphis Botanic Garden. We packed a picnic and spent the day exploring the 95 acres of beautiful gardens. We especially loved the serene Japanese Garden, the steamy Tropical House, the buzzing Pollinator Garden, and the magical Living Gazebo.
We were a little bummed when we got to the gift shop and it was closed, but a super nice lady saw us and reopened it just for us! It was an awesome way to end the day. We'd highly recommend it, but if you go in the summer, definitely wear shorts and bring a backpack cooler."
