It is so sad that a man who was so far ahead of his time, yet so humble, was gunned down in cold blood, leaving much of his story to be forgotten. This site seems relatively forgotten as well. In fact, I didn't even know where it existed, it just showed up on my map when…

Hey did you guys see there is a show about J. Garfield on netflix? I wanna watch it just to see if they put “old” mentor in it! Also was Garfield really something to make a show about or is netflix really just bored?

They showed a version of Lawnfield, but not the actual home. The porch was very realistic.

"I have arrived at the visitor center around 4pm which unfortunately was too late for house tour (last one happens between 3 and 4pm), hence plan accordingly since it is a major part of experience. Still, a lot of facts can be learnt by simply carefully checking out rooms of visitor center. For example, Garfield was the last president born in simple log cabin."

Mike Z

"I am a big fan of National Park Sites and try to visit as many as I can. There is a guided tour that takes about 45-minutes, and I chose to watch the 18-minute video and look through the Museum. Whichever way you choose, you will be impressed!"
