What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Turkey Creek Golf Course offers a unique layout with creek hazards and interesting greens, and a distinctive train track feature. However, recent reviews highlight concerns regarding pace of play management, inconsistent staff attitude, and limited availability of amenities, which have impacted the overall guest experience for some.
"Course Review: Turkey Creek Golf Course
As a frequent golfer and someone who organizes corporate outings regularly. I’ve come to expect a certain level of professionalism, hospitality, and operational efficiency from a golf course and how it should be presented. Unfortunately, our recent 18-hole round at Turkey Creek Golf Course was very disappointing and fell short in expectations.
Pace of Play & Management Approach – 1/5
Our group consisted of seven players, divided into a threesome and a foursome. Each tee time averaging approximately one minute per player well within reasonable expectations. Despite this, we were approached multiple times by a course ranger and told to speed up. Oddly, there were no groups immediately behind us, nor were we holding up any players on the course.
The ranger cited a “new software system” the club is using to monitor progress. But this rigid, data-driven approach ignored the on ground reality. It created unnecessary pressure on our group and disrupted what was supposed to be a enjoyable company event. In my experience, the best managed courses blend real time observation with technological aids not rely on them blindly.
Staff Attitude & Guest Services – 1/5
One of the most disappointing aspects of our visit was the conduct of the staff. From the pro shop to the rangers, the general tone was cold and unaccommodating. We were celebrating a professional milestone with our team. Instead of feeling welcomed we felt like we were an inconvenience. Amenities were closed with no advance notice or explanation and the energy from the team felt disinterested at best. Borderline disrespectful at worst.
Having hosted clients and corporate partners at various golf courses over the years. I can confidently say this experience fell short of the standard required for such engagements. It’s safe to say we will not be bringing any business functions or guests back here.
Course Conditions & Amenities – 2/5
The course itself has some redeeming qualities. Fairways were generally well-maintained. Do have to state there is poor drainage very muddy along the course. However, the declining quality in hospitality and service overshadowed the physical upkeep. Amenities such as the refreshment stand and additional practice areas were either closed or unavailable. Which is unusual for a course that once offered a full-service experience.
Overall Impression – 1/5
I’ve played this course before and remember a time when it delivered a average-tier golf experience. Unfortunately, it appears to be trending in the wrong direction. Whether it’s understaffing, poor training, or a shift in management priorities.
Given our intent to entertain clients and celebrate team achievements. The experience fell short of expectations. Based on this outing, I would hesitate to recommend this course. For individual golfers, it may still offer a passable round. Enjoy a quality day on the course. Due to my recent visit. I would recommend looking elsewhere for now."

"First let me start by sharing my booking experience. I found a hot deal on Thursday on GolfNow for a 3pm teetime on Friday. Booked no problem. Showed up the next day at the course after driving 40 mins to get there. First impressions is the place is a dump. They have hand written signs everywhere with the “rules”. The clubhouse (if you can call it that) is completely ran down and reeks of old cigarettes. I told the guy at the front desk that I was there for my teetime and he pretty much flipped on me. Said GolfNow shouldn’t have been booking those times. As if it was my fault… didn’t offer any solutions or compensation for their mistake. He pretty much ignored me and went back to his call.
Safe to say I won’t be playing here in the future and I advise you to avoid it."

"Really like this course. Solid 4 stars. Weekday twilight rate $24 w/ a cart. Creek is involved on most holes. Greens have interesting contours. Holes 14 and 17 are my favorite. Par 3 hole 8 is the only hole I don't like. Train track runs through the course, which is cool."

For Different Travelers
Tailored advice for your travel style
👨👩👧 Families with Kids
It's recommended to book tee times during less busy periods, like early mornings, to ensure a more relaxed pace. Bringing your own snacks and drinks is also a good idea, as on-site amenities might be limited or closed. Focus on the fun of playing together rather than strict adherence to pace, and communicate any concerns to the pro shop beforehand.
💰 Budget Travelers
However, it's important to balance the cost with the potential for a less-than-ideal experience regarding staff attitude and amenity availability. If your priority is a low-cost round and you're prepared for potential service inconsistencies, Turkey Creek can be a viable choice. Consider packing your own food and drinks to further manage expenses.

To ensure a smoother experience, it's advisable to be mindful of your pace. Aim to keep up with the group ahead and be aware of your position on the course. Playing during off-peak hours, such as early mornings or weekday twilight, might offer a more relaxed atmosphere and reduce the likelihood of pace-related pressure. Understanding Course Conditions & Features
