Reviews Summary
Pleasant Valley Reservoir is a beloved spot for trout fishing, with many praising its angling opportunities and scenic Eastern Sierra setting. However, some visitors express concern over increasing crowds and litter, urging for greater respect for the environment. While fishing can be excellent, it's noted that it can also be slow at times, and summers are particularly hot.
"Went to participate in the Blake Jones trout Derby Saturday March the 16th. Me and my fishing partner woke up at crack of dawn only to come out of the reservoir with just one small trout. Over all Fishing was very slow from my observation of nearby anglers.
Weather was very good unfortunately fishing not so good.

"I used to love this place I learned how to fish at this reservoir. It used to be a place for fishermen that came up here to fish. People that care about the sport and respect the waters and terrain. Now, you have to book in advanced because it’s full of families. They don’t come here to fish they come here to eat, talk, and take selfies. They come in packs of 10 maybe more and they bring noise pollution, trash, and they feed the wildlife. I have nothing against families i have one of my own but i sure as hell wouldn’t bring my kids to this dirt pile with no water or restrooms. Why don’t you guys go to Diaz lake stop taking our fishing spots. What I hate the most is that they have respect you’re supposed to pack out what you pick in have some respect for the wildlife and clean up your trash. Every time I hit the reservoir I fill at least 2 trash bags get it together people find somewhere else to go!"
