Reviews Summary
Visitors find Metropolis, Illinois, a fun and charming 'pit stop' destination, especially for Superman fans. The giant statue and extensive museum are highlights, offering great photo opportunities and a nostalgic experience. While some note that the town is small and some businesses close early, it's widely considered a worthwhile and enjoyable stop for its unique theme and friendly atmosphere.
"It's a fun place to visit. We were there a little after 4 pm, and for the most part, the town near the Superman statue was shut down. We also visited the Lois Lane statue the our door blocks down the street from Superman. (You can see the front of Superman from the corner of Lois Lane's statue.)"

"I have driven by Metropolis many times. Decided to stop and see the attractions. The statue is nice. They have done a great job with information, and the set up for photos etc. The town is cute, the downtown is obviously Superman themed, and a cool place to visit. Pretty small place all in all. If close, then this is worth stopping to see, grab lunch, take a few pics. Maybe not a place I would make as a destination, but like I said, if you are in the area stop in."

"We were on our way home to Indiana after a trip to western Tennessee. When trying to decide where to stop for dinner we noticed Metropolis. It was just a few miles off our path and I’m glad we stopped. We saw the statue, the museum, and had dinner at Fat Edd’s. Great place for a pit stop for sure!"
