While generally positive, some users note that certain trail sections can be challenging due to landslides.
"We rented Shelter D for an impromptu family reunion. All of a sudden we had several family members from out of town and we needed somewhere big enough to accommodate our large group on short notice. This place was perfect. We were right by the very clean bathrooms. (my 18 year old daughter even called them cute!) We were also surrounded by playground equipment which was perfect for our wide range of kiddos! The pavilion was very large and loaded with plenty of picnic tables to comfortably spread out and even play games! There were 2 large size, easy to use grills which made preparing our food fast and easy. There were 2 large garbage containers as well. All in all, it was a fantastic experience for everyone! We would definitely recommend this place and we would definitely use it again ourselves! Thank you to the staff who made it possible!"

"My mother's maiden name is Emerson. From the Bay City/Midland area. Not sure if there is a connection but, love the park. Wonderful pavilions. Plenty of parking. The path along the river linking with the Rail Trail make it a very pretty loop to walk. Plus, Dahlia Hill is right across the street."

"Loved the walk, my buddy and I had a blast going down the trail, we went about 1-2 miles in. It's definitely a higher difficulty hike in terms of safety, lots of landslides on the path, but we saw a beaver which made it so worth it! Beautiful views of the water and the flowers smelled so nice in the air☺️ not the type of hike I'd take a date on but it was fun"
