What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently rave about the thrilling whitewater rafting on the Penobscot River, particularly highlighting the expertise and personality of the guides who ensure both safety and fun. The included meals are also a frequent point of praise, rounding out an exceptional adventure experience.
"What an awesome place! As part of an adult male group, we went on a September trip, and while it was a little cool with a wetsuit, it didn't matter. Our river guide was quite adept and led us through the best part of each rapid. The food at the end of the trip was fantastic as well. From start to finish, these guys created an all-around amazing experience for us. Thanks!"

"I'm 70 and I'm not going to lie. When this 'kid' said he was our guide. I got nervous. The 'kid' turned out to be a highly trained, extremely confident guide who made our trip spectacular. The trip was better than great! There were 9 in our group, and only 1 had done this before. We all had a wonderful time. Jack is an exceptional guide. He was paying close attention to his job to be sure we all stayed safe. He was able to gauge everyone's comfort level and ensured we had an exciting and fun trip. I had more than 20 years on everyone else in our group. I was very comfortable knowing that Jack was keeping an eye on me, and appreciated it when he would reach out to be sure I was steady. We had places where we could jump out and swim, and a place where we could jump off a rock. We had a blast playing king of the raft. Making memories with family and friends is priceless. I can't wait to go again. I would even try the Dead with its harder rapids, or a high water day, if Jack is willing. The meal they served after we returned was excellent. I can't say enough good things about this trip, this company, and our guide. All the guides have gone through rigorous training and I am confident all the guides are equally good. Make a reservation. You won't regret it."

"White water rafting is one of those activities that always promises excitement, but the experience you have often depends on the guide leading you through the rapids. My friends and I recently had the absolute pleasure of rafting on the Penobscot River, and I can confidently say that this adventure wouldn’t have been half as thrilling, safe, or memorable if it hadn’t been for our incredible tour guide, Noah.
From the moment we met Noah, it was clear that this guy was passionate about what he does. He greeted us with an infectious enthusiasm, a big smile, and a calm confidence that put any pre-rafting nerves to rest. We could immediately tell we were in the hands of someone who not only knew what he was doing but also genuinely loved the river and everything it offered. That energy alone transformed our rafting trip into something so much more than just riding the rapids—it became an experience we’ll be talking about for years.
Noah’s expertise on the river is something that deserves to be highlighted. The Penobscot is known for its challenging, fast-paced waters, but Noah navigated us through them with a balance of precision and fun. He wasn’t just steering; he was teaching us, encouraging us, and making sure we knew exactly what to do in any situation. His instructions were clear, concise, and—importantly—delivered with a sense of humor that kept the whole group relaxed, even when we faced the most intense sections of the river.
But it wasn’t just his skills that made Noah such an amazing guide. What stood out to all of us was how much fun he made the day. His love for the river and the sport was obvious, but it went deeper than that. He seemed genuinely invested in making sure each of us had the best experience possible. Whether he was hyping us up before a big drop, sharing stories about the river’s history, or pointing out beautiful spots along the way that we would’ve otherwise missed, Noah added layers to the adventure that I never expected.
There were moments when we were all laughing uncontrollably, moments when we were holding on for dear life (in the best way possible), and moments when we were in awe of the stunning surroundings. Throughout it all, Noah was the constant—keeping us safe, engaged, and making sure we left with stories to tell. Without him, the trip simply wouldn’t have been the same.
The Penobscot location is unique, not just because of its breathtaking landscape and challenging rapids, but because of the people like Noah who bring it to life. The river itself is an experience, but guides like Noah transform it into something unforgettable. Without this location, we lose the chance to experience this again—and trust me when I say, we are not alone in that sentiment. Noah is a rare find, and the Penobscot River is the perfect stage for him to do what he does best: guide people through one of the most exhilarating, fun, and meaningful adventures they’ll ever have.
It’s not just about keeping a business running—it’s about preserving a place where memories are made, where people like Noah can continue to share their passion, and where adventure seekers like us can return again and again to experience something extraordinary. The Penobscot River and its guides are irreplaceable, and it would be a tremendous loss to see it shut down.
We’re all hoping that this review will highlight just how much this location means to those of us who have had the privilege of rafting there and how essential guides like Noah are to making these experiences as special as they are. We want to return, we want to raft the Penobscot again, and we want Noah leading us down that river. Please keep this location open so that we—and countless others—can continue to experience the magic of Penobscot rafting.
In short, Noah made our trip unforgettable, and we can’t wait for another chance to share the river with him. Penobscot is more than just a rafting spot—it’s a place where memories are made, where adventure thrives, and where people like Noah can do what they do best."
