What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Mom's Beach offers a scenic and refreshing escape to the Russian River, praised for its calm, shallow waters perfect for wading and swimming. Visitors appreciate its dog-friendly nature and free access. However, the beach is predominantly rocky, requiring water shoes, and parking is notoriously difficult, especially on summer weekends. The access path can also be steep.
"The description of this beach is misleading. Mother’s Beach & Forestville Access are the same beach and many folks still call it Hollydale Beach. There is really no sand, the beach is all rocks, water shoes are a must. There is not a playground or gazebo. There is an outhouse toliet. Parking is hectic (see photos). Dogs run loose off of leashes. The most recent floods have changed the shoreline, the river had widened so there is not much beach left and the path to get down to the beach is much steeper. There is a handicapped parking space but, there is no way a disabled person could access this beach. Busloads of intoxicated people are dropped off every weekend (from Memorial Day-Labor Day) wearing colorful tubes and floaties and then wander aimslessly down River Road searching for beach access and cell service for rides. Sadly, the beach has really changed over the past 20 years."

"Beautiful views and fun place to swim. We didn’t find the parking lot so just parked in the neighborhood where permitted. Port a potties and life vests available. Short downhill walk from street."
Toni Thompson
"Nice beach on the river and dogs are allowed as long as they are on a leash. A few people have their dogs off leash, but the ranger stops by often. Porta-pottys are available and the free lot is not a far walk."
