What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise The Legacy Museum as a profoundly impactful and essential experience, highlighting its educational value and emotional depth. While the no-photography policy is noted, most find it enhances the immersive nature of the exhibits. The affordability and the dedication of the staff are also frequently commended.
"One of the best museums that I’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting. The staff at the museum are all very professional and friendly. The museum is immaculate and the price for admission is very reasonable. You are not allowed to take pictures in the museum which was fine because I was so impressed, I purchased 3 books, 3 tee shirts, a hoodie, ornaments and a magnet. We also had a wonderful tour guide Ann Clemons. The tour did get quite emotional for me at one point and I was glad that they have benches to sit. The art in the museum is breathtaking and the history behind the stories can get overwhelming at times, but I was comfortable at being uncomfortable. The pictures that I’ve posted are from the park across the street from the museum. The other pictures are from The National Museum for Peace and Justice. A very solemn visit but one that is a necessity. The visit to Freedom Monument Sculpture Park was breathtaking and beautiful. If you ever get a chance to go to Montgomery,AL please visit these and the other museums in and around Montgomery. I will go back again."

"What an eye-opening experience! I wanted to cry. We've all been lied to about the true history of our African American friends and neighbors. The museum is beautiful and full of information. Every school child in the United States needs to come here to learn the truth."

"The Legacy Museum is a treasure chest of Black History! All of the museum guides were courteous and helpful! The Memorial Garden has both indigenous and African art. There was so much to see that it started raining and we couldn't see it all! That makes it so much easier to go back and finish the tour! The most fun part was the shuttle bus rider named Stan Washington! He was GOAT tour provider! Thanks again Stan!"
