What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Mount Elbert Forebay is lauded as a uniquely beautiful spot with incredible fishing and camping opportunities, offering peaceful moments and stunning mountain vistas. However, visitors must be acutely aware of the significant safety risks posed by nightly water turbine activations, making water activities potentially dangerous without extreme caution and life jackets.
"I’m giving this 1 star- Not because Forebay Reservoir isn’t a uniquely beautiful spot to enjoy or even a great place to go camping/hiking/Fishing… But because there needs to be extra percussions taken when it comes to this specific reservoir, possibly signs indicating the dangers of getting into this body of water after a certain time frame-as they have water turbines that turn on each evening. PLEASE, make sure to wear your life jackets when boating or kayaking in this Reservoir…I also believe they should commemorate all the people who have lost their lives here each year."
