What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the Alice Paul Institute Paulsdale for its informative and passionate guided tours, highlighting the significance of Alice Paul's life and work. The free outdoor audio tour is also a well-loved feature, offering a comprehensive exploration of the grounds. While the house has minimal furnishings, the focus remains on Paul's mission, which resonates deeply with guests.
"I enjoyed the guided tour of the Alice Paul Institute. The tour guide provided an interesting overview of Alice's work with the suffragist and ERA movements. I also enjoyed the outdoor audio tour, as well."
Raymond Ellis
"The house tour is only on the first floor of the house so it is accessible to anyone via the ramp shown. There is very little furniture because Alice Paul wanted her work and mission to be known rather than become a celebrity, but this makes it easily maneuverable. There is an option for a self-guided tour that involves reading the info they have in 3 rooms and a hallway, or a guided tour for just $2 extra that basically summarizes all of that. There are some gifts for purchase on a windowsill with no prices listed. I wouldn't necessarily list this as a gift shop as they had. There is a free audio tour of the grounds outside that have dirt or gravel pathways or grass. This was a nice hidden gem that takes about 30 minutes-1.5 hours depending on how much time you want to spend."

"We attended the Alice Paul birthday event. The panel presentation was excellent. It was our first time at Alice Paul’s childhood home and we enjoyed learning about her life. We also discovered it’s a stop on the NJ Women’s Heritage Trail which we didn’t know existed so now we will be exploring the rest of the trail!"
