"What a wonderful small museum depicting firefighting history. We took our 3 year old grandson, who is currently very much into firetrucks. He had the opportunity to sit on a very old firetruck, as well as seeing where the firefighters slept, bathed, and ate. He thought the chamber pots under the bed were a funny object, especially as we explained to him the use of the pots. Outside the museum were two wonderful ladies that gave our little one a basket so that he could gather eggs and put them into an egg carton to sell. They also showed him how clothing was washed before the invention of the modern day washing machine. Beside the museum was a historical home that was open to walk through and learn a bit about its occupants from the past. All in all a wonderful time! I recommend if looking for something to do while in Muskegon, put this little gem on your "to visit" list.
