Staff enthusiasm and the unique stories, like Raggedy Ann dolls being made locally, contribute to a highly recommended experience.

"The Muskegon Heritage Museum of Business & Industry is located in the historic downtown, right across from the Amazon sign. Don’t be fooled by the name—it refers to the Amazon Knitting Company, which was native to Muskegon long before the existence of the online retailer. The museum is quiet and surprisingly informative, offering rich insights into local history and the manufacturing industry. Exhibits include steam engine-powered "appliances," vintage bowling machines, the lumber trade, and more. It’s truly a hidden gem in the Muskegon area."

"Did you know that Raggedy Ann & Andy dolls were made in Muskegon? Or that it had one of the largest refrigerator factories in the world? There is one small section of industry highlighted after another. Staff are very excited to share the museum and will eagerly answer any questions.

This museum is largely focused on the industries that are or have been in Muskegon. It doesn't have info about its logging history, although I suspect that is found more at the Hackley Home museum.

We spent about 1.5 hours here and really enjoyed it. 2 hour parking on the street and other parking on side streets nearby."

David Bouwkamp

"We had a fantastic visit to this museum. Jim gave a wonderful tour and went above and beyond to make it a great experience! You would never guess by looking at the outside of the building how much is in there: a working steam engine, working bowling pin setter, player piano, and much much more!"
