Is this the most isolated state park in the Florida? 📝 Collier-Seminole State Park covers over 7200 acres of Southwest Florida. This park is within one of the largest Mangrove Swamps in the world and is where the Blackwater River originates before it meanders through the Mangrove Swamps as it empties into Blackwater bay and the Ten Thousand Islands. Even though it’s not a far drive to get to big ...

Reviews Summary

Collier-Seminole State Park is praised for its well-maintained grounds, unique natural beauty with rare palm groves, and historical significance, particularly the impressive steam dredge. Visitors enjoy the camping facilities, boating, fishing, and the potential for abundant wildlife sightings. However, the pervasive mosquitoes are a significant drawback for many, and some campsites can be close together.

"We camped here mid December for my birthday trip and it was nice! Even though its dry season, bring mosquito repellent and make sure to apply while you sleep! I believe the only time I was bitten at the campsite was while I was asleep and to spots I didnt reapply repellent lotion on to.

There is a small shop near the RV/tent loop that had a bit of supplies. Ice, firewood, I think bug repellent, snacks, and plushies and tshirts. If they dont have what you need a publix is pretty close-6 minute drive? and also a walmart about 12 minutes away.

The staff/volunteers were all very nice. I didnt see any bears, but they made sure to let us know they had and drove around to each site to remind people to make sure your food stays in the car when unattended.

You can hear a little bit of road traffic, as the park is just off the side of a road.. but it wasnt bad to me! Since I live in Central FL I can never see the stars, but they were very nice here. So light pollution isnt nearly as bad in this area thankfully.

The sites are kind of close so if you are a large family or get stuck by one, youll definitely hear them but thats to be expected at camp sites of course. There are trees and shrubs that keep your site more private. There are two showers in the women's restroom and the area was kept clean.

As reviews have mentioned, most the trails are closed. The 6.5 mile adventure trail, and the on site .9 mile trail. I assume they dont have enough volunteers to keep up with the fast pace growing of the everglades.

But the 3.5mile trail thats like a 1 or 2 minute drive, Prarie Hammock, was open and easy to get to. Full of mosquitos though so make sure you wear strong repellent AND bring extra. I forgot to reapply to my ankles and luckily thats all that was bitten on the trail. Id also do breathable long pants and a summer long sleeve. It will be hot but mosquitoes will be swarming you most of the hike so trust me! Its a bike trail as well so be alert for bikers. Also did see a fresh fallen log on a turn so bikers be careful.

Would recommend this site to stay on the tent only loop!

Oh and mint mobile will likely have zero to weak signal in this area of Florida!"

"Stopped in here after the nature boardwalk, this park is well maintained and clean. there's camping and some history of building the roads through the Everglades. There even the unique steam shovel they used to make the road.
Also fishing and boat launching with kayak rentals."

"Really nice park! Very big with a lot to do. We are camping in our RV, which there is plenty of space for our 40' fifth wheel. Only complaint about the site is that there isn't sewer hook ups at all the sites, but there are 2 bath houses just a few steps away in either direction. We love the park, but the mosquitoes use this place as a buffet 🤣 seriously, don't go outside without your favorite bug spary, unless you really love giving back to nature lol

The marina is massive, with tons of parking and plenty of room for navigating around with larger vessels. Through playground, which is on the smaller side still offers a range of different areas for the kids to play. The best part is there is a bathroom right next to the playground!"
