What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the Nashville Zoo for its clean, naturalistic exhibits and the visible health and happiness of its animals. Many highlight the friendly and helpful staff, as well as the unique close-up encounters with creatures like kangaroos. While food prices are noted as typical for a zoo, the overall experience is described as enjoyable and worthwhile, with special events like 'Boo at the Zoo' and 'Zoolumination' being major draws.
"This zoo is great!! Very clean and natural looking. I love the beautiful trees and geometric shaped animal statues throughout the paths. The animals looked to be in good health and were easy to see. My only complaint would be I wish they didn’t serve alcohol inside since there are so many kids that go. That is just my personal preference though. On a Saturday, the zoo was busy but was still very enjoyable. My 2 year old had a blast."

"They have a lot of great exhibits, and I loved that they always had park staff around to ask where best to see the animals. I can tell the animals are very well taken care of and happy, which makes me happy because I really love animals. The food was a bit on the expensive side, but honestly that's to be expected at any zoo or amusement park. They weren't as pricey as some I've been to and I'm grateful for that.
I loved seeing the vet hospital as well, where they were raising a pair of snow leopard kittens on the day that I visited. Their animal hospital is worthy of any of the finest human hospitals, and I really liked seeing the surgical room through the observation window.
The only feedback I would have is that if you're traveling with someone who has disabilities, then I wouldn't go on a rainy day. Their electric scooters are not usable when it rains. I'd like to see them get a few small golf carts or similar for days when it rains. It would have really helped my mom a lot, and she wouldn't let me push her in a wheelchair because of my own back problems. Although I would have happily done it. She was in a lot of pain by the end of the day, and couldn't enjoy everything she wanted to because of her limited ability to walk at this time."

"I absolutely had the best time at the Nashville Zoo! The Associates were all friendly and helpful! The walkways were very clean and well maintained. The Animals are simply phenomenal especially getting to see them up close! Literally, right next to them! My personal favorites were the Kangaroos!
If you have never been or it’s been years since you have it is worth it!
FYI, so that you are not stunned they do sell adult beverages throughout the area. Along with Souvenir Cups, ice cream, coffee, slushes, hot dogs, etc.
The Gift Shop is so nice inside too! They have lovely Stuffed Animals of all their ones pin the Zoo, Jewelry, Mugs, Shirts, etc. I am sure everyone can find a keepsake to take home;)"
