Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise Cape Flattery for its breathtaking, almost spiritual, views at the northwesternmost point of the contiguous US. The dramatic sea stacks, rugged coastline, and the feeling of remoteness are major highlights. Some find the drive long and the permit fee a consideration, but most agree the experience is well worth the effort.

"10/10! Cape Flattery was a surreal experience to have for sure! Another worth it place to go to along the Olympic! We went early in the morning on a weekday and there wasn’t that much of a crowd and we got just to take it all in. It was absolutely beautiful. Highly recommend stopping by!"

Joy Yoy

"Okay so the ride out to Cape Flattery feels like everyone else missed the memo and you’re the only one who showed up, which is exactly how I like it. The trail through mossy forest opens onto wooden platforms where the Pacific just crashes into cliffs and sea stacks that look painted by someone who lives on the edge. I went with friends on a grey morning and the mist made everything feel cinematic in a calm way—not touristy chaos. Getting there takes some planning because you need a ferry or a hike, but the payoff is being so close to where land ends it’s almost spiritual. It’s not a full sunshine postcard spot and I kind of love that it feels hushed and raw."

Maya K.

"Moderate hike mostly on a nice boardwalk. Definitely stop at all the lookouts...beautiful views! I took advantage of the walking stick at the info sign. It was helpful but not really necessary and would get caught in between the planks on the boardwalk. Some people before us saw a whale; we saw an eagle! It was cloudy and rainy, but the hike was worth it! You can see across the water to Canada...so cool."
