What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Mardi Gras World for its unique behind-the-scenes look at float creation and its impressive collection of past parade masterpieces. The guided tours are informative and engaging, offering a fascinating glimpse into the artistry of Mardi Gras. While some find the location a bit out of the way and parking can be pricey, the overall experience is highly recommended for its visual spectacle and cultural insight.
"We have visited NOLA several times and never knew about this Gem. Mardi Gras World is a stop that should not be missed and is a short ride from the Quarter. The regular ticket price is fair, but if you are lucky enough to find a Groupon it is even better. From the outside it does not look like much, just a large white metal warehouse, except for the very large King and Queen figures outside. As soon as we stepped inside, we were blown away, and the best was yet to come. Your visit starts with an interesting short video of the history followed by a piece of King Cake which was a little dry. Then you start with your tour guide who takes you through the process of making the figures and floats. Between tour stops there is plenty of time to wander and take pictures. You will not be disappointed. Visited 3/15/25."

"Mardi Gras World was an ok experience. My family and I had the opportunity to see floats and props that had been previously used, as well as see workers creating new floats.
This museum is a bit out of the way if you are staying in the French Quarter area or surrounding areas. Not sure if it is worth paying an uber ride. I also read (somewhere😳) that parking was $20.
We purchased the tickets via Groupon, so at least we did not spend much."

"Pretty cool place to check out! If you’re looking for a calmer experience away from the French quarter, this is great. Lots of cool photo ops, and a cool history lesson about Mardi Gras parades!"
