What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the Saenger Theatre for its breathtaking historic architecture and the quality of its performances, from Broadway shows to concerts. While many find the seating comfortable and the atmosphere magical, some note that the guest intake process can be crowded and the surrounding Canal Street area can feel a bit sketchy. Despite minor drawbacks, it's widely considered an irreplaceable New Orleans landmark.
"Fantastic venue for a concert or show. I’ve enjoyed legendary music and theater here for many, many years. Beautiful interior architecture and comfortable seating. Not a bad seat in the house. Go spend an evening seeing something you haven’t before and be taken back to a simpler time, when theaters weren’t just square rooms with a screen."

"We came here last month for the show of Hamilton. Truly a beautiful venue and the location is very niche! It was very nice being able to walk to the theatre from our hotel room. The charming atmosphere is breathtaking! The only thing I would improve on, is the intake process of guests once they present their tickets. It became very crowded with limited direction from staff. Otherwise, we truly enjoyed our experience!"

"I went to see Derek Hough at the Saenger Theatre in November 2023, and it was an amazing show! The entire theatre looked very elegant and had a unique yet vintage style to it that I consider timeless. Staffing was nice as well. The only thing I can really complain about is that it’s in a sketchy area (Canal Street) and everything is street parking, but it’s also New Orleans so I can’t really be too surprised. Aside from that, Saenger Theatre is a beautiful theatre that I believe is irreplaceable."
