What's your favorite Minnesota Statue/Public Art piece?

The Herman monument in New Ulm.  Mainly because I like history. I visited it as a kid and didn't know anything about it.   In 2005 my principle asked a foreign exchange student from Germany who Herman fought against, thinking maybe some medieval kingdom, but it turned out to be…

Which U.S. city has a German feel to it? And why?

This may sound strange, but I’m from Minnesota and Germany felt just like home to me. We even have towns like New Ulm that celebrate their connection to German culture. Also, the Capital Saint Paul has a Cathedral that overlooks the city and a number of Biergartens / patios,…

"Very nice park. The statue is crazy to see in person. I preferred to not have to pay to interact with the monument. I also didn’t feel safe going all the way up to the top of the statue. Once you’re up there you realize how low the guard rail really is and the concrete is kind of slanted up there. I’m not someone who is afraid of heights and I felt dizzy and sick. You also have to crawl through a tiny hole in the ceiling to get up there.. I just was having a hard time feeling completely safe."
