I have one day in NYC next month, and want to photograph abandoned history
One of my favorite experiences was to take the photography hardhat tour at Ellis Island. My daughter and I spent a couple of hours with a guide from Save Ellis Island, an NPS partner, learned a lot and captured some cool shots. What other unique photo opps are like this in NYC?
I’m thinking of doing some photography in Staten Island because I’ve been told there are a few abandoned buildings that I can get in. Is this true? Like the Seaview Hospital? Any suggestions? Thanks reddit

"Absolutely serene, quiet place to explore. Very much a shame this historical landmark has not been renovated as an educational park. Lots of history, and very dark within certain areas. Be careful and safe treading certain areas as there’s a ton of debris everywhere around buildings. Park at the rec center."

"It is fenced off so if you’re going it’s best to go through the Greenbelt soccer field. There should be like a low 3 feet tall separator in the back of the field that you can step over to get into the woods. It has some cool abandoned buildings."
