Some reviews note that certain aircraft and parts of the ship could benefit from more maintenance.
"Very fun. Spent few hours there. My last visit was as a 13 years old and took my kids now after 29 years. Most of the upper deck seems ok but the plaines nees some love, some of them looks like cardboards. The side of the ship needs some painting too. Not good to see rust on the entrance. The middle deck has lots of activities for the small kids and it shame you cant enter to the space ship. The submarine is fine as always. There are to many additional exebithions that cost extra. Dont know why since we already paid entrance. Overall will visit again if we are in NY"

"The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum is an absolutely unique experience — a real aircraft carrier turned into a museum. The highlights for us were the submarine Growler, where you can walk through the narrow corridors and see how sailors lived; the legendary Concorde, still impressive with its sleek design and history of supersonic flights; and the Space Shuttle Enterprise, which left both kids and adults amazed. The combination of history, technology, and hands-on exploration makes this museum unforgettable.
Our children were thrilled — from exploring the deck filled with aircraft to stepping inside a real submarine and standing next to a space shuttle. Overall, a fantastic place for families, highly recommended if you want both education and excitement in one visit."

"What an incredible experience at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum! From the moment we stepped onto the massive aircraft carrier, it felt like we were transported into a living history book.
The displays are phenomenal—fighter jets, the Concorde, the Space Shuttle Enterprise, and even a full submarine! ✈️🚀⚓️
We loved how interactive everything was. My kids had a blast trying the hands-on exhibits—especially the retro communication station and flight controls.
Staff were super friendly and informative, always eager to answer questions with a smile. The Concorde tour was a highlight: sitting in the first-class cabin while learning about its supersonic legacy was unforgettable.
It’s spacious, accessible, and well-signed for self-guided exploration.
Expect to spend at least 3-4 hours to do it justice—there’s just so much to see and learn. Booking tickets in advance saved us time, and we appreciated the discount for local residents.
Whether you’re a military history buff, aviation geek, or just looking for a family-friendly day out, this museum hits the mark.
Highly recommend visiting early to beat the crowd. We’ll definitely be coming back!
5/5 stars for education, fun, and atmosphere!
