"Park Avenue Armory was built by the Seventh Regiment of the New York National Guard, the first militia to respond to call for volunteers from Abraham Lincoln (the 16th president of the U.S.) in 1861. It has been an important monument in the history of engineering and architecture since its completion in 1881. It served as a military, social and cultural centre for the Guilded Age. The venue is ideal for visual and performing arts and presentations. Usually, the first floor and the downstairs space is open to public.
Veterans Room and Library on the first floor are my favoriate space as they were designed by Louis C. Tiffany (the creator of beloved Tiffany stained glass lamps from the Tiffany Studios whose father was Charles Lewis Tiffany of Tiffany & Co.)
Board of Officers Room is another beautiful space as it has the original mahogany woodwork from the 19C by Herter Brothers the interior design firm although it was altered in 1930s, 90s and then restored in 2013.
You can enjoy architect Charles W. Clinton’s designs in the entrance, hallways and staircases in here as well."

"If you think you have visited all the famous museums in NYC, you should visit the Park Avenue Armory. I believe it does not offer any discounts for tickets, but it is worth the money. Inside, the dark, mysterious atmosphere welcomes you. As you walk straight into the building, there is an exhibition. When I visited there in August, I saw Diane Arbus's Constellation. Besides the exhibition, the decorations of the building itself are already stunning. There is a small bar and eating area. The bathroom is located on the second floor. I believe there is no elevator to get to the second floor, so it is not an accessible building for all people."
