Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the Starbucks Reserve Roastery for its stunning, immersive atmosphere and unique coffee experience, highlighting the live roasting and specialty drinks like the Whiskey Barrel-Aged Cold Brew. While the ambiance and beverages receive high marks, some guests find the food offerings to be average for the price point. Overall, it's considered a must-visit for coffee enthusiasts and those seeking a novel NYC destination.
"The Starbucks Reserve Roastery is a Starbucks on a completely different level and I would recommend coffee lovers to go to experience it.
First of all, the atmosphere and style of the store is fancier and amazing - the staff are welcoming, lots to see like the roasting machine to all the various merch that features local artists or New York exclusive designs.
The food showcased was fresh and made in house + there were menu items that aren’t in the regular Starbucks. Even though it’s simple, the herb croissant with prosciutto was amazing and as I had ordered the flight of hot cocoas (seasonal menu), the savoury sandwich was a great companion to the sweet.
I also ordered the whiskey barrel aged cold brew coffee which needs to become an official drink - one of the best tasting coffees I’ve ever had, the coffee was so smooth to drink with the scent and taste of whiskey (alcohol free). They add a touch of vanilla syrup which adds more flavour to the whiskey coffee.
Highly recommend and would love to try some of the experiences one day!"

This was my first time visiting a Starbucks Reserve Roastery, and it truly set the bar high in terms of atmosphere. The space is absolutely beautiful and incredibly expansive — you can easily spend a good chunk of time just exploring all the different sections.
What makes this location stand out is that it’s far more than “just a coffee shop.” They offer an impressive range of food, specialty drinks, and coffee beans sourced from around the world. One of the highlights for me was the stunning bar area, fully stocked with a wide selection of liquors you’d never expect to find in a Starbucks. It really adds a unique twist to the overall experience.
Service was exceptional, all the staff members were all so incredibly nice and friendly. I think I also came at the right time as they had holiday decorations out. All so pretty!
That said, I think I may have ordered the wrong thing when it came to food. The sandwich I had was unfortunately a miss — overly salty and just very average for the price point. The seasonal hot chocolate was enjoyable and comforting, but not quite the mind-blowing experience I hoped for based on the hype.
On a more positive note, the assortment of souvenirs and coffee beans is exceptional. You can pick up blends and gifts from locations across the country, which makes it a fun spot to shop for something a little more unique.
Despite the food hiccup, I’d absolutely come back. The space, the drinks, and the overall vibe make it worth another visit — and next time, I’ll definitely try something different on the menu.

"A very relaxing morning here, just watching the time goes by.
It was pretty crowded but still has sufficient space to chill and relax.
The coffees were great, especially the Whiskey Barrel Aged Cold Brew. The best of both worlds! Almond Croissant was good yummy too.
Special shout out to Elliot for making this visit a fabulous one. His explanation and service standards were outstanding and really made us feel at home. Thanks Elliot."
