What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Eleven80 receives mixed reviews, with many residents praising the welcoming staff and stunning NYC skyline views. However, recurring issues with slow elevators, inconsistent hot water, and frequently out-of-order amenities like the bowling alley detract from the experience for some, especially given the rental cost.
"I love living here. From the first day - the staff the management - everyone have been so welcoming. A special thank you to the ladies in the leasing office - Leah and Jay. They work hard.to make our home better. I’ve lived here for almost 3 years and I love this building. Amazing lobby team - trustworthy maintenance staff!!!! And the security guards are always there to make sure we are safe. Any question or concern I have - everyone works to have always find a solution. Happy tenant. ♥️ thank you guys - for taking care of us 🙏"

"Loved my time living here, the concierge staff and the maintenance crew is great. My only problem is that they did not fix the bowling alley for a long time which might be something a lot of people should know before they decide to rent here. I moved away to the West Coast but otherwise I would have loved to continue living here!"

"I lived in this apartment for 2 years and overall the experience was not what I would have expected for how much the apartments cost. Things especially seemed to go downhill after renewing the lease. I want to share my experience so that anyone looking to live here can have the full picture of what the expect before signing the lease. The following are the biggest issues I had while living there:
* When I first signed the lease, I had my own renter’s insurance. When that insurance period ended, I enrolled in the apartment’s renter’s insurance offered through the rental portal. After switching, I was charged a $35 fee every month for not having renter’s insurance. After the first couple months of this, I went to management about it. I had proof of the renter’s insurance plan and they even confirmed that they could see the insurance on their end and that they would credit the balance of the $35/month that was charged to me incorrectly. This did not happen the next month, instead I was charged $35 again. When I went back to management, they claimed I actually did not have renter’s insurance. It was an endless cycle and they never did make it right. I continued getting charged $35/month for the remainder of the lease.
* The elevators were extremely slow at certain times of day because 1 or more is always broken or under renovation.
* There were tarps in the hallway on my floor close to year and they were still there when I moved out. There was a pipe burst on the floor above and that’s why the tarps were originally put there. I understood that, but there is no reason they should have been there for so long. For months the tarps were there and there was no sign of anyone working to fix the problem. Why were the tarps necessary months after the leak? One tarp was attached to the ceiling across the entire hallway, and it blocked one of the elevators. So if that was the elevator that came, you were forced to go under the tarp. Luxury apartment where?
* My apartment filled with the smell of weed multiple times. In addition, my bathroom would fill with a VERY strong scent of cigarette smoke multiple times.
* The bowling alley almost never worked. They show it to you during the tour and act like it’s an amazing amenity, and it would be if it ever worked, but it doesn’t. Anytime they “fixed” it, it would work for a couple days and then be broken for months again. It’s an amenity that I paid for and never got to actually use.
* The bathrooms in the common area are not consistently stocked with items such as soap and paper towels.
* The a/c and the heat would not work at the beginning of every season change. The first few days of winter would be freezing until they got the heat to work and the first few days of summer would be extremely hot until the got the a/c to work. It’s not central heat or a/c either.
In my opinion, you can get a much better apartment for the price that this one is. It is not worth it. I had a nice view of the NYC skyline, but that was NOT worth all the issues experienced here. In addition, I do have to say that the front desk staff and the maintenance staff were both AMAZING. I appreciate them always being there and greeting me and they were always extremely helpful. Management however…."
